Paws For Purpose - Fundraising for Blind Low Vision NZ Guide Dogs
When I reimagined Trudy for the Guide Dogs Puppy Dogs Art Trail, I thought an aerogram and stamp theme would go with the original coin collection era.
Hey there! Are you a fan of unique art collectibles that also support a good cause? Well, have I got the perfect item for you!
Introducing my reimagined Trudy for Blind Low Vision Guide Dogs, PAWS FOR PURPOSE fundraising, Paws for Purpose is an interactive art trail and auction, raising funds for Blind Low Vision Guide Dogs. All funds raised will go towards the much-anticipated build of our new Guide Dog Kennels.
Trudy, I can see clearly now… features a fun aerogram and postage stamp theme that perfectly complements… or should that commemorate the Trudy Dog coin collection era. Ever spotted those life-sized dog coin collection boxes, fondly called Trudy? Back in the good’ol’days people used to pop a few coins in, donating to what used to be called the Blind Foundation NZ. In the era of eftpos, cryptocurrency and digital transactions, sadly, they have been unused, obsolete, and sitting in a dusty storage room. UNTIL a team of generous creatives has given these true Kiwiana gems a new life, upcycling them into one-of-a-kind art pieces. So. Much. Love.
Trudy, I can see clearly now
Trudy Blindlow, Heartbridge Road. Summer lakeside. With you here. I can see clearly now. (Croxley aerogram)
Trudy, I can see clearly now… was crafted with the help of NZ Post Collectables, showcasing authentic postage stamps that highlight Aotearoa’s native flora, fauna, birds, and even its involvement in Antarctic exploration. With New Zealand stamp prints of officials and first runs, along with mixed media and acrylic finishes, this piece truly is an artwork of kiwi history. But the best part? By bidding on this item, you’re supporting a great cause! The ‘Paws for Purpose’ Auckland interactive art trail and auction is raising funds for Blind Low Vision Guide Dogs, helping them continue their vital work in providing assistance to those in need.
